A sad reflection on our lives today

How sad for our kids that so many of them just don’t have the skills just to be kids. Gross motor skills are like the building blocks for a child’s active future and without them, a child is unlikely to end up being an active adult or teen. This makes them more likely to end up overweight or obese.  

The incidence of depression amongst the young is on the rise,  and reduction in physical activity and increased screen time are the culprits.

So much is written about this subject, a subject that I am passionate about, but we seem to be ignoring what is in front of us – it is us as parents who have the power to alter the course of our children’s future, but it won’t happen without effort.
